Urbact III Operational Programme

GENERAL OBJECTIVE: This European programme is part of Europe’s cohesion policy: its goal is to help implement the Lisbon-Gothenburg Strategy, which prioritizes competitiveness, growth and employment.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:
- To enable cities to work together to develop solutions to major urban challenges, reaffirming the key role they play in facing increasingly complex societal changes.
- To help cites to develop pragmatic solutions that are new and sustainable, and that integrate economic, social and environmental dimensions.
- To enable cities to share good practices and lessons learned with all professionals involved in urban policy throughout Europe.
ELEGIBLE PARTNERS:
- Cities (municipalities and agglomerations)
- Regions (where urban issues are involved)
- Universities and research institutions (where urban issues are involved)
- Other partners (generally at their own expense): national and transnational city associations, the private sector
ELEGIBLE COUNTRIES: Partners must come from one of the 27 European Union Member States, Norway or Switzerland (partner states). Partners from other countries can participate at their own expense.
SUPPORTED ACTIONS:
- Sharing and capitalising on project experience
- Providing methodological and financial support
- Supproting exchange of networks
CO-FINANCING: A final draft Operational Programme will be approved in March / April 2014.
